‘All-weather’
hardstand pitches for 2009
We are determined not to let the wet and muddy 2008 season beat us!
We have installed a significant number of new all-weather hardstanding
pitches, with increased drainage and gravel roads leading directly to
them, providing more dry, level pitches, perfect for caravans and motorhomes.
These electric pitches now include a gravel hardstand wide enough for
the caravan and awning but still have the grass to the side. Some are
‘drive through’.So if you visited us in 2008 and experienced
mud and getting stuck, perhaps try us again because those pitches are
now dry ‘all-weather’ pitches – a different experience.
So you can now visit us whatever the weather!
Passing
Places for 2009
Early in 2009 two new passing places are to be created in Osmotherley
village to relieve congestion on the approach to the Caravan Park. Thanks
to Osmotherley Parish Council.

WiFi for 2009
WiFi is being installed for the 2009 season. Wireless broadband will
therefore be available to about two thirds of the Park (the occupants
of those pitches outside the Hotspot can walk inside the Hotspot area
to use it). Broadband access is via voucher which can be purchased for
any period of time, from a few hours to the whole season.
5
Stars for 2008
We
begin the 2008 season with a new 5 Star Tourist Board Award which classes Cote Ghyll Caravan Park as one of the top Parks in the
country. The Tourist Board/English Tourism Council now describe Cote
Ghyll as “exceptional”. This is an award which we are extremely
proud of and is something we have been working towards throughout our
time at Cote Ghyll. However, do not be concerned as we still intend
to continue a steady programme of improvements!
This 5 Star Award adds to our existing AA 4 Pennant Award and the Tourist Board Rose Award. The Rose Award was achieved in 2006 recognising the quality of our static holiday caravans for hire. We are now acknowledged as providing amongst “the best caravan holiday homes in England.”
New deluxe Superpitches for 2007/08
The 2007 season saw the opening of a new section at Cote Ghyll with new Superpitches as well as touring and seasonal pitches. Located on the West side of Cod Beck stream this section is on two levelled terraces.
The higher terrace provides large hardstanding pitches suitable for caravans and motorhomes. A number of these pitches have become de-luxe Superpitches for the 2008 season. A Superpitch provides your own service point on your pitch which gives water, 16 amp electric, drainage and TV aerial connection points, as well as a large hardstanding with your grassed area to the side.
The lower section is adjacent to the stream (but high enough not to flood!) and provides large, electric, grass pitches which can accommodate caravans, motorhomes or tents.
Electric Supply Upgrade for 2007
As this is something which cannot be seen, we thought we should also tell you about it! In 2007 we made a large investment and increased the electric supply capacity to Cote Ghyll. The aim being to maintain a consistent supply of electric to all pitches throughout the season.
New Reception & Shop for 2007
A new larger, brighter and more welcoming Reception and Shop
has opened at Cote Ghyll. Located at the entrance to the
Park this has brought a huge improvement. The Shop now provides
a small range of convenience foods, sweets, drinks, toys
and the all important maps/walking information! Why not give
us a
try!
New luxury shower block for 2006
A new purpose-built, luxury shower block was opened at Cote Ghyll for Easter 2006. This is the second shower/amenity building on the Park and contains our standard underfloor heating. In addition in the Ladies and Gents are free power showers, private wash cubicles, hairdryers, shaver points and baby change facilities. The building also accommodates a bathroom, family shower room/disabled room, pot wash sinks, tourist information section and a laundry with separate drying cabinet for those wet outdoor boots & coats. As our price is all inclusive there are no coin slots (except for the bath, washer & dryer).
We have aimed to provide facilities of an extremely high standard and it remains very important to us to continue to keep these facilities as clean as the rest of our Park and facilities.
