So, the clocks have changed and the nights are drawing in, time to get cosy in the local pub!

We’re so lucky in that North Yorkshire offers a wealth of pubs to dine and drink, not least our very own village has three fantastic options!

With the cold long nights, we go in search of a cosy pub with delicious food, good drinks and a fire or two!

Kicking off with the Queen Catherine, Osmotherley. Recently refurbished this pub offers a cosy hide out for groups of walkers and will even cater for bus tours by prior arrangement. Osmotherley is best known for some of its fabulous walking and outdoor activities such as the Coast to Coast and the White Rose Cycle Route, so make sure you incorporate a pub stop off on the way!

You don’t have to go far for our next pub choice. The Three Tuns, Osmotherley, open Wednesday to Sunday and recommended by trip advisor offers good honest, no fuss food. Think Sirloin Steaks, Fish and Chips and Homemade Burgers. The cosy atmosphere means you’ll want to stay for pudding too!

Try The Wild Swan, Minskip. Only a 25 minute drive this gem of a pub offers delicious no fuss food in a newly refurbished restaurant at great value. You can even watch your steak being cooked if you like. With an open fire that straddles both the restaurant and separate bar area you can even take your four-legged pooch into the bar where a jar of doggie treats await while you have a pint or glass off red sat by the fire.
