As August draws to a close..
Posted on 27 Aug 2021 in News
We are leaving August on a high, lots of hot summer days and Cote Ghyll has been absolutely bustling! As ever we have been investing lots of time and effort into updates and new additions around the park, our new beckside walk was just one of the new features for this season, and runs alongside the stream adjacent to the children’s playpark. It’s a great little walk, suitable for any weather, and even the dogs love it, so if you haven’t already given it a go then we recommend you take a look.
Speaking of dogs, we have also created a new dog wash area near to the Mill on the path up to the reservoir, ideal for when you get back after a long muddy walk. There is a dog-height shower head with warm water, and it’s not just for dogs, you can also wash bikes, boots and any other muddy items you may have with you. There is a cold water tap alongside which can be used for washing or filling water bottles, all the water at Cote Ghyll is from a natural spring and is drinkable.
For those outdoor adventures we have created a new orienteering course, suitable to beginners through to advanced. The moorland of the North York Moors is the perfect place to hone your compass skills, ask at the Mill reception for details.
As the weather starts to feel that little bit chillier you can now head down to the reception for a hot drink from our new coffee machine, so for a hot americano, cappuccino, hot chocolate or a good old cup of tea you know where to come.
For those guests that come to Cote Ghyll for total relaxation, we are now fully up and running at The Mill Kitchen. Offering a range of breakfast items, from pastries to Full English, packed lunches and evening meals to eat in or take away, we recommend a visit at least once during your stay. There is also a fully licensed bar serving a selection of beers, ciders and wines as well as soft drinks. Food needs to be ordered online, visit https://food.coteghyll.com/ to see the great selection on offer.
While we are on the subject of the Mill, school might still be out for the summer, but the team down at Cote Ghyll Mill are always taking bookings for School Groups. With 14 en-suite rooms, fully catered kitchen, packed lunches available, large dining room and outdoor woodland campfire area, it is the perfect venue for schools adventure days and residentials.
Finally, our biggest new additions this year are the three newly completed self-catering holiday apartments located within Cote Ghyll Mill. The one-bed apartments are ideal for singles or couples looking for a quiet retreat, while the 3 bed sleeps up to 10 people, ideal for groups of friends or families on adventure weekends, walking or biking . Enjoy your own private apartment alongside the benefit of having access to all the wonderful facilities available at The Mill.
